Travel and discover Turkey

This magic land has mystery and beauty. It is the oldest witness of world's short history. It has been a witness of world's ancient civilizations, different cultures, customs and different religions. Throughout the history, because of the geographical and economic movements in this beautiful land, new cultures were born and spread out from here to all over the world. The most important commerce routes which are crucial for the ancient civilizations both in politically and economically, passed through Anatolia such as Silk Road and The Royal Road. Thanks to the trade routes, Anatolian people not only exchanged the goods such as silk, ivory, spices but they also exchanged their culture. They influenced people and they were influenced by them.

Guess who passed through Turkey, If you go back in 900.000 BC the Paleolithic people who had to live in the caves and tried to survive, in 10.000s BC Neolithic people who had to defense themselves against wild animals, during Chalcolithic Age people discovered new things and invented new tools, and they showed great progress in mining and made very beautiful jewelries. And in the following years people who had all these beauties, had to fight for it against the invaders who lived around here. This old land has seen hundreds of battles and blood shed in every square meter.

The Trojans, the great Hittite empire, Assyrian trade colonies, Pyrgians, Lycians, Lydians, Persians, Romans, Byzantines, Seljuk Turks, the Great Ottoman Empire and the Turkish Republic also passed through this piece of land.

To summarize whereever you go, you will see something from these people. If you imagine the fact that every civilization left at least one thing behind, it wouldn’t be difficult to understand how rich Anatolian culture is!
